“The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through music” Martin Luther
There are many people, through the years, who can proclaim that they first heard the Gospel through the words of a song. I am one. It was through the music of those such as Amy Grant and Petra that taught me about the love of Christ. Every Petra album listed the scriptures from which the lyrics came from so that the listener could search them out a read for themselves.
King David, a man after God’s own heart, wrote much of the music we find in the book of Psalms. Songs of praise and worship, but also songs of lamenting. Music has been called the universal language. From the late 60s to present time, the Holy Spirit has inspired so many to put their heart into words and into melody. We can’t let any of this go to the wayside.
Many people have worked tirelessly to archive so much of this music in places such as YouTube. Most of what is shared on this site is merely links to playlists of what is already there. I have tried my best to create playlists of the complete albums that have released through the years. I will try to give reviews of them as I go and will welcome others to submit the same.
